Specialist Arable Event Returns to the Farming Calendar
More than 600 people attended The Arable Event at Weston Park in 2014, which was organised by the Wynnstay Group and Grainlink with backing from organisations across the sector.
Organisers have now announced The Arable Event will return to the venue on the Staffordshire and Shropshire border on June 17.
During the day, which is free for farmers to attend, there will be the opportunity to view and discuss extensive trial plots covering Winter and Spring cereals, oilseed rape, catch crops, cover crops, peas, beans and hybrid rye, along with a wide range of trade stands.
Experts will give presentations on a variety of relevant topics. Attendees will also be able to earn professional development points and take advantage of a free moisture meter checking service.
Event manager Kelly Goodyear said: “We had such positive feedback from a huge number of exhibitors and farmers who attended last year that we have decided to expand the trial plots and exhibitor area this year, giving it even more variety.
“There is no other dedicated event of this kind in this region, which I would like see grow each year. The response at this early stage seems very promising."
Key sponsors for 2015 are Wynnstay, GrainLink, Syngenta, HSBC, GrowHow and Calcifert.
