Sow outdoors in April to July

• In a prepared seed bed
• Sow thinly in rows of 40cm (16in) apart
• Cover lightly with 2.5cm of fine soil
• Firm gently and keep moist
• Seedlings appear at 14-28 days
• When large enough thin to 15cm (6in) apart
• Keep weed free and well watered to prevent bolting
• Harvest in July to November
• Protect with clothes in cold weather from October onwards for later harvest
• Feed every two to three weeks to increase yields
