Craft will remain the malting barley of choice this autumn. Fully approved by the MBC for brewing, with a very good specific weight and stiff straw. The variety has an incredibly successful agronomic package with the inclusion of the two BaYMV resistant strains (BaYMV strain 1 and BaMMV). The charecteristic red pigmentation of Craft will appear on the awns and grain after flowering, coming from its parentage of SY Venture and incredible successful winter barley for quality and yield. Craft’s best performance will be on light soils in the Eastern or Northern region of the UK.
