KWS Inys is the first six-row hybrid barley from KWS and was added to the AHDB Recommended List in autumn 2024 as the highest-yielding winter barley variety. It delivers outstanding performance, particularly in the West (112%), with strong results also recorded in the East (109%) and North (106%). With an impressive untreated yield at 90%, KWS Inys represents a significant step forward in hybrid barley productivity. The variety features a well-rounded disease resistance profile, including a rating of 7 for Mildew, 6 for both Rhynchosporium and Brown Rust, and 5 for Net Blotch. Inys is early to mature, offers good grain quality with a strong specific weight, and exhibits excellent agronomic traits. It is very stiff-strawed, with a lodging resistance score of 8 both with and without plant growth regulators. Additionally, Inys boasts the lowest brackling percentage (7%) among all hybrid barley varieties, further enhancing its appeal for growers.
