Magnum is a white/yellow skinned Fodder Beet with both a consistent root size and high dry matter yields. Magnum has been bred specifically for those who mechanically lift and store beet for feeding animals at a later date. It is a very palatable variety therefore increasing dry matter intake - which can help to increase milk yield and daily live weight gain. The tops of the Magnum Fodder Beet can be utilised if required to boost the total fodder output even further – the roots tend to be lifted and stored however some farmers have strip grazed certain varieties with dairy cows. Magnum has excellent establishment with a low bolting tendency, the bulb height and size is more consistent than standard beets, allowing for less damage and wastage at harvest.
