Shed Assistance

Do I need planning permission for a garden shed?

Your shed is classed as an outbuilding and you will not require planning permission, however there are restrictions on outbuildings.

The shed must be a single storey with a maximum height of 4m, no nearer than 2.5m to the main house. It cannot take up more than half the garden.

We recommend contacting your local council planning office for further advice.

Do I need a base?

This is dependant on where you will be positioning your shed. If you would like to place it on grass then a base is needed.

If you are looking to place your shed on a concrete base, patio or wooden decking then you will not require an additional base.

All sheds come with floorboards, but a good foundation is key.

Which shed is best for you? A shed or a summerhouse?

A solid base is key to any shed, once you have a base you can begin to build your shed.
