The problems with weed control in-gamecover crops usually arise because the combination of several different crop species in the mixture, it can make it difficult to find herbicides that are safe to all the components. Weed pressure is also increased when cover crops are sown on the same piece of land for a number of years.

Springer is a perennial game cover mix that makes excellent driving cover. Our perennial game cover solutions are ideal for sowing on areas that cannot be sown annually or on pasture leys that are too wet for good performance of other forage plants. The mixture is made up of Perennial Chicory and Spring Triticale reaching a height of 150cm to 200cm. The Triticale in the mixture provides feed in the first year with the second and third year providing feed from the Chicory. The mixture is drought tolerant due to Chicory’s deep rooting with the Triticale contributing to resistance from rabbit damage.
