Following SCOPS recommendation dose lambs with Zolvix in the mid to late season to remove the largest burden of worms and clear out any resistant worms. It is unlikely any eggs from resistant worms picked up by sheep after this dose will survive over the winteR. Completely clearing worm burdens at this stage will increase the productivity and welfare of lambs with only a 7-day meat withdrawal.
Clearing resistant burdens in lambs slow down the selection for resistance on the farm and prolong the life of the other anthelmintic classes. For all incoming sheep onto the farm, Zolvix is recommended with sheep housed for 24-48 hours before being put out on dirty grazing. This can be combined with a scab treatment.
