Amino Balance: Unlocking the power of amino acids
Amino Balance is a premium, high-energy feed designed to enhance the efficiency and productivity of livestock when used in conjunction with grazing or a partial mixed ration (PMR). It contains features rumen-protected amino acids to help balance the supply of lysine and methionine, the first limiting amino acids in the diet, help reduce excess crude protein and provide a soya-free solution for milk contracts who require it.
Amino Balance 16 includes:
- Maize - High level of bypass starch, slowly degraded and highly digestible to support a high level of milk yield and milk protein
- Rumen Protected Rapeseed - Provides high-quality bypass protein to meet the cow's demand for DUP in higher levels of milk production
- Rumen Protected MET & LYS - Increase nitrogen efficiency, reducing excess nitrogen excretion and energy cost to allow the feeding of lower crude protein diets, supporting health and fertility
University of Nottingham Centre for Dairy Science Innovation Key Findings
When feeding Amino Balance 16 at the University of Nottingham we saw these results;
- 4.8kg increase in milk per cow compared to 2023.
- Reduction in milk urea levels from 249mg/litre to 176mg/litre, indicating improved protein efficiency.
- Crude protein levels dropped from 17.5% to 16.7%.
- Starch content increased from 18% to 22.5%.
- 14% increase in forage intake, leading to a 10% reduction in CO₂e per kilogram of milk.
