Country Value Pepper (Hot) De Cayenne

Much loved hot peppers, producing high yields of slender fruits with outstanding flavour. Milder when young and green, they become hotter when mature and red. Prefers fertile soil or grow bags.

Sow indoors in February to April

• In pots or trays of seed compost.
• Sow thinly, cover with a fine layer of compost
• Firm gently and keep moist
• Cover with glass, polythene or propagator lid
• Keep at approx 15-20°C (60-68°F)
• Seedling appear 7-21 days
• Remove cover when seedlings appear
• When 5cm (2in) tall transplant into 10cm (4in) pots of compost with as little root disturbance as possible
• Keep at approx 15°C (60°F)
• Transplant to growing bags or large pots
• Harvest in July to October
• Outdoor plants will ripen later
• Apply a liquid feed every 2-3 weeks once flowers have formed
