As a group 2, KWS Palladium is an attractive partner to group 1 quality wheats because it has higher yields and a more forgiving disease package but still can achieve a premium. With one of the highest untreated yields available, stemming from its yellow rust rating of 9 and 7.3 for septoria which are two hugely important yield robbing diseases in the UK. Early to mature, stiffed straw and good sprouting resistance are 3 factors which offer harvest security, an attractive option in a quality wheat. While not as vigorous as some, its still important to hold off drilling Palladium until the end of September to help manage the crop in the following spring.Â
