Arable Trading Manager

Paul’s agricultural career spanning some 40 years to-date started when he joined regional farming cooperative Staffordshire Farmers Ltd in the early 1980’s.  

 Joining family merchanting business NB Camber Ltd in 1990, where Paul managed the arable and grain trading activities of the business, he took up a Senior Trading role in 1999 with local competitors Shropshire Grain Ltd. Acquired by Wynnstay Group PLC Paul continued in this position through to the merger of Shropshire Gran and Wrekin Grain  in 2011 when both businesses combined to form Grainlink Ltd, the grain trading division of Wynnstay Group PLC.

In 2012 Paul moved to Agrii Ltd heading up the Crop Marketing and Risk Management activities of the business before a move back into the trading environment setting up and managing a regional office for Countyrwide Farmers Ltd.

2015 Paul re-joined Wynnstay Group arable division as Arable Trading Manager working alongside the Grainlink team with whom Paul currently holds his Senior Arable and Grain Trading Role

Ellie Edwards BASIS FACTS

Agronomist

Ellie joined Wynnstay’s Agronomy Team in June 2021, providing technical agronomy advice to customers, field staff and stores in the Midlands.

Coming from an arable farm in South Derbyshire, crops have always been an interest to Ellie. Graduating from Harper Adams University in 2018 with a BSc (Hons) in Agriculture and Crop Management, Ellie then started her Agronomy career managing field trials looking at a variety of plant protection products and seed varieties.

In 2021, Ellie decided to move to a more commercial role at Wynnstay, covering Derbyshire, Staffordshire, Shropshire and South Cheshire.

She provides a range of advice from technical agronomy advice on a variety of combinable and forage crops, seed queries and nutrient management planning.

Cefin joined Wynnstay 15 years ago from Agtek (Kemira Fertilisers) where he trained as a technical Sales Representative.

Cefin is FACTS registered and specialises in advice for any size enterprise and for all types of systems - dairy, beef, sheep, arable and mixed farming.

Arable & Forage Specialist

Louise covers Forage and Arable in the South West region of England; she has covered the area, and resided there, for a number of years. With this, along with a host of experience in the sector, Louise is able to properly advise and support Wynnstay customers on all their arable choices and inputs.

Grass & Roots Seed Manager

Colin has been involved in agriculture all his life. Growing up on his parents dairy farm near Welshpool he realised at an early age that he didn’t want to milk cows for a living.

During time spent in Australia when he was 18 he discovered arable farming, since then he has gathered 23 years of field experience from all aspects of farming practices through share farming and farm management.

Colin joined Wynnstay in 2009 as a Seed Sales Specialist.

Lewis Davies

Group Environmental and Sustainability Manager

Lewis joined Wynnstay in 2014, predominantly working within the procurement and supply team.

Lewis now leads the Group’s sustainability strategy; focused on internal resource efficiency and sustainable food production.

Lewis has a BA (Hons) in Business Management, a PgC in Agri-Business and a PgC in Sustainable Leadership.

Away from Wynnstay, he is a 6th generation sheep and beef farmer from Mid-Wales and a keen sports player.

Associate Lecturer - Aberystwyth University

Nia joined Wynnstay in 2018 as a Trainee Dairy Specialist, she has since gone on to gain experience as a lambing assistant, research and development officer.  She is now an Associate Lecturer at Aberystwyth University.

Calf and Youngstock Specialist South England

A farmer’s daughter raised on a dairy farm in Wiltshire, Hannah plays a large role in the calf rearing on the family farm, bringing both a practical and hands-on approach to youngstock. Hannah has recently graduated from Harper Adams University after studying Agriculture with Animal Science.
Following on from her farming background and university placement, Hannah has a keen interest in early calf-hood and transition management, understanding the importance of focusing on young calves and dry cows to maximise the performance of your current and future herd.

Nutrition Consultant

Steve supports the Wynnstay Midlands Sales Team with Nutrition Consultancy, working closely with a number of dairy customers. Prior to working as a consultant, he was the ruminant feeds product manager at Wynnstay for 23 years. He has over 40 years of experience in providing advice to dairy, beef and sheep farmers across the UK.
