Meet the Wynnstay Marketing Department

Meet the Wynnstay Marketing Department

The Wynnstay marketing team supports the diverse needs of the business through printed materials, events, podcast, website, and social media. The team are based at our head office in Llansantffraid. In this article we speak to each member of the marketing office to learn more about them and their role.

Sian Probert

Head of Marketing

I’m Sian, and I’m the Marketing Manager for Wynnstay. In my role, I get to work with a great team of people to deliver the marketing strategy of the business using a whole host of marketing tools.  My role involves collaborating with Product and Commercial Managers to plan, implement and measure effective campaigns. I get to work on lots of different projects, including corporate publications and presentations, business events, strategic campaigns and rebranding projects; with this much variation, it’s impossible to get bored!

I’ve worked at Wynnstay for over 10 years, and during this time, the business has grown significantly, but the business has been able to retain its friendly and approachable feel, which is all down to the team of people working here.

Fun fact- I'm not sure it’s wise to share this, but I have a completely irrational phobia of baked beans, I find them completely repulsive.

Audra Davies

Assistant Marketing Manager

I am the Assistant Marketing Manager for Wynnstay. I joined in 2017, during this time my marketing role has evolved through supporting different enterprises across the business.
My job is multi-faceted, I work closely with a wide range of colleagues in the business, product suppliers, and external resources. One key area is to manage the marketing requirements for the Calf & Youngstock Team, which can involve anything from producing a publication; Focus on Calves and Focus on Lambs, to planning the annual Calf & Youngstock Roadshow.

My role also includes managing Wynnstay’s attendance at key industry and agricultural events - we have 22 in the calendar for this year, with the majority requiring our presence from May to the end of October. I enjoy having the opportunity of working with an extended Wynnstay team both in the lead up to, as well as at, an event.  Another key element is developing our own brand packaging – this requires me to work closely with our Product Managers and suppliers to produce packaging from concept to launch, in line with our company requirements, expectations, and position within the industry. I thoroughly enjoy seeing all of the work put into developing new packaging come to fruition as it is positioned in our stores. Looking to our stores, I work closely with the Merchandising Team on the content and artwork for our signage requirements; whether this be an Opening Hours sign or full signage pack for a new store.

Fun fact: I was at one time, in the not-too-distant past, proficient in the ancient art of cheesemaking. In an artisan dairy, working with raw milk, I made hard, semi hard and soft cheeses.

Jeni Hall

Senior Marketing Co-ordinator

You’ll often see me sending emails through about our Farm Focus, Seasonal Savers and the Agri-Hub Podcast, and you’ll find me helping out at our key industry events too.

My role involves lots of planning, organising, proofreading and juggling (though unfortunately not the circus kind!) which I enjoy doing – especially when a plan comes together. It’s nice to be able to see something right from the very beginning stages, through to the end result; whether that be on paper, packaging, through headphones or in the flesh at an event – where it’s also great to get out and meet lots of different people.

My usual fun fact is that I’m a freediver and can hold my breath for quite a long time, and will be competing in my first British competition later this year. I get to use this skill in various aquariums around the country, where I dive in the tanks as a mermaid and get to swim around with sharks, rays, turtles and lots of fish!

Aled Davies

Marketing Administration Coordinator

My role is to provide efficient and flexible administrative/marketing support with a wide range of key projects and general administration to the marketing team. This includes reviewing sponsorship and donation requests, recording of department invoices, preparing store packs, preparing and ordering business cards, working with the marketing team to organise facilities for all events such as decor, catering, transportation, equipment, promotional material etc, attending events to support the Stand Manager in overseeing stand presentation, and recording of the marketing team payroll.

What I enjoy most about my role is the varied work and how no two days are the same. It’s great seeing everything come together and seeing how my role helps support the rest of the team.

A fun fact about me is that I once sat and had a few drinks with Basshunter whilst in a club in Bulgaria after he had finished his live performance. After finding out he was a Spurs fan the conversation mainly revolved around football. I support Manchester United as did the others I was with, and with Spurs playing United the following day we spent a lot of time disagreeing about who would win. Of course, we were right as United won!

Rich Orr

Head Graphic Designer

Hey there, I'm Rich. As a graphic design wizard, I thrive on creating captivating brochures and signage that make eyes pop and jaws drop. When I'm not busy sprinkling design magic, I love embracing my inner daredevil and hitting the road on one of my trusty motorcycles. When I’m done picking bugs out of my teeth, I also have a passion for ski touring. There's nothing quite like carving through fresh powder, and feeling the exhilaration as I navigate the snowy slopes. Along with my design skills and appetite for adventure.

Fun Fact: I tattooed myself.

Tim Tansley

CRM & Website Manager

I’m Tim Tansley, CRM & Website Manager. I’ve been with Wynnstay for four and a half years now.

My CRM role involves supporting the Sales Teams and Stores with their use of the CRM System. This involves helping them gain insight into their customer's buying patterns and analysing data to understand what the evolving nature of the Wynnstay customer base looks like.

I’ve recently also taken on responsibility for the Website and a lot of my time is going into a major redevelopment to make it easier to use and allow customers to buy products from us online to click and collect in-store.

I love the variety my role provides, turning dry data in into information that can be used to help people be successful in their roles, and working in the Digital space means technology changes so fast there is always something new to learn.

Fun Fact: As a child I lived in Columbus Indiana, USA for two years, and for anyone who has watched Stranger Things, supernatural stuff aside, it’s bang on!

Anna Scott

Digital Content and Social Media Manager

I joined the Wynnstay Marketing Team in 2017. I manage our many social media accounts across the company, this includes Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, Pinterest and YouTube. Content creation is a big part of my role which can include graphic design, photography, videography, and blogs.

My role can be very diverse, and I really enjoy that aspect of it, every day there is something new to talk about. I often get to farms, this is always a great learning experience for me to better understand our customers and the work our specialists do.

Fun fact: I studied glass art in University, this included creating stained glass windows. I've featured in a few art shows too.

I also like cats.

Eilis Toner

CRM and Digital Marketing Coordinator

I look after the website and all its product listings. This includes optimising the SEO for our categories, products and blogs so our customers can find what they need and are encouraged to click through. I also work with our agency developers to make sure the website runs as it should.

I love the part of my job where you see everything come together. There’s nothing more satisfying than making changes on the website and logging on to Google Analytics to see how it has improved our customer’s journey for the better.

A fun fact about me is that in my spare time, I love to travel around to different theme parks around Europe.

Craig Jones

Digital Marketing Coordinator

I am the Digital Marketing Coordinator, I plan, create, and deliver all our email marketing content, ensuring that customers subscribed to E-Newsletters across all areas of the business are receiving insightful, engaging and relevant content. In addition to this, I deal with any website enquiries we receive from customers and assist the team with website maintenance.

The aspect of my job that I enjoy most is seeing the content I have built being distributed to our customers and I get great satisfaction from seeing this content providing a helpful and positive outcome for both the customers and the business. I also enjoy the fact that the content creation aspect of my role as it enables me to collaborate with colleagues across various areas of the business to provide the best possible content.

A fun fact about me is that my right arm contains metal plates after a dune buggy crash in the middle of a Qatari desert, so it is often referred to as my ‘bionic arm’. Apart from this I am an avid football and golf player but wouldn’t boast about my ability in playing either!
